8 Best Dark Reverse Harem Books

Check out my list of recommended dark reverse harem books below! I’ve read all of them, and many are some of my all time favourites (and ones I hated, but definitely are dark which is why I add them onto the list they fulfill the requirement very well).

The Never King by Nikki St. Crowe

Best Dark Reverse Harem Books
Series: Vicious Lost Boys #1
Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Reverse Harem, Dark, Retellings, Fae, Adult, Paranormal,

The stories were all wrong — Hook was never the villain.

For two centuries, all of the Darling women have disappeared on their 18th birthday. Sometimes they’re gone for only a day, some a week or a month. But they always return broken.

Now, on the afternoon of my 18th birthday, my mother is running around the house making sure all the windows are barred and the doors locked.

But it’s pointless.

Because when night falls, he comes for me. And this time, the Never King and the Lost Boys aren’t willing to let me go.

This super cool dark reverse harem books series is a Wendy and Peter reverse harem retelling with enemies to lovers, intimacy, villainous morally gray love interests, and more!

Lords of Pain by Angel Lawson and Samantha Rue

Series: The Royals of Forsyth University #1
Genre: Reverse Harem, Dark Romance, College, New Adult, Contemporary, Contemporary, Romance

James has always had one agenda: destrI never claimed to be a good girl, but I definitely never asked for this.

Killian, Tristian, and Rath.

These three men are a part of my past–one that I’d rather never look in the eye again. In high school, they knew my secrets and I knew theirs. They had power and I had nothing. The night everything fell apart, my stepbrother allowed his two best friends to take their rage out on me while he watched. While they laughed.

But what happened that night wasn’t my biggest secret. So I ran, planning on never coming back.

Three years later I’m standing on their doorstep like a stray. They’re more powerful than ever now, having risen to the rank of Lords at Forsyth University. But I’m still on the run and there’s another monster chasing me down.

What could bring me back into their lives, their homes, and ultimately, their beds?

Fear.
Shame.
Desperation.

Killian, Rath, and Tristian aren’t the only ones who want me. There’s someone far more dangerous out there who’s been stalking me since I left town the first time. Someone who makes the evil I know feel less dangerous than the evil I don’t.

But being their Lady is more than just fancy clothes and reputation.

I might be under their protection, but I’m also at their mercy.

And there’s nothing a Lord loves more than taking control.oy his enemy, Peter Michaels. When Peter’s twenty-year-old daughter Wendy shows up in James’s bar, he sees his way in. Seduce the girl and use her for his revenge. It’s the perfect plan, until things in James’s organization begin to crumble. Suddenly, he has to find the traitor in his midst, and his plan for revenge gets murkier as James starts to see Wendy as more than just a pawn in his game.

Wendy has been cloistered away most of her life by her wealthy cold father, but a spontaneous night out with friends turns into an intense and addictive love affair with the dark and brooding James. As much as she knows James is dangerous, Wendy can’t seem to shake her desire for him. But as their relationship grows more heated and she learns more about the world he moves in, she finds herself unsure if she’s falling for the man known as James or the monster known as Hook.

By far one of (if not the) darkest dark reverse harem books I’ve ever read.

Really really don’t recommend it if you are not into the DARKEST dark reverse harem books out there. I personally hated it but it’s dark for sure if you are looking for that.

Kings of Chaos by Eva Ashwood

Series: Dirty Broken Savages #1
Genre: Reverse Harem, Dark Romance, Contemporary, Crime, New Adult

I was a good girl once, but now I dance with devils.
Some people wear their heart on their sleeve. I wear vengeance like a suit of armor.

I’ve got a list with six names on it. Six people who wronged me, who hurt me, who took everything from me. Six people who turned me into the monster I am now.

And I’ve crossed off every name but one.

One more name. One more death. Should be simple, right?

Yeah, you’d think so. But it turns out revenge is a messy business, and when I end up in the wrong place at the wrong time, I royally piss off four brutal, twisted, gorgeous men.

Gage, Priest, Ash, and Knox.

Lucky for me, the last name on my list is someone they’ve got their own grudge against, so instead of killing me, they offer me a deal. They’ll give me a chance to exact my vengeance, and in exchange, all they want is…

Me.

I’m not stupid. I’ve played this game before. Even though they’ve agreed to help me, I know they want to punish me too. They want to toy with me. To let their demons loose on me.

But maybe these Kings of Chaos have let my pretty face fool them.

Because I’m just as vicious as they are. And I’ve got demons of my own.indows are barred and the doors locked.

But it’s pointless.

Because when night falls, he comes for me. And this time, the Never King and the Lost Boys aren’t willing to let me go.

Eva Chase is one of my favorite dark reverse harem books authors! Her “dark” is a lot more tamed and easy to digest (for readers like me), and I love how she adds new guys further in the series progression.

All are available on Kindle Unlimited.

This books is one of the dark reverse harem books with enemies to lovers, a psychotic slightly crazy heroine and four equally psychotic men (nice lol).

On the brink of losing her position as a maid and with no prospects to go on, the offer of a place at Rooksgrave Manor—a house of ill and unusual repute—sounds like a perfect fit for a young woman with Esther’s inclinations. Even better, the invitation comes by the hand of the handsome Dr. Underwood, a delicate gentleman with a ferocious alter ego who knows exactly what he wants from Esther.

Upon arrival the men and the daily decadence of the manor feel too good to be true for a girl of Esther’s station. There are rules to be followed, expectations to meet, and Esther is afraid she might be too wicked even for a place like Rooksgrave.

Temptations lurk around every shadowy corner and Esther has never been a girl able to resist. But the risk of disappointing her new gentlemen isn’t all that’s threatening Esther’s new position. Rooksgrave Manor’s protections for its unusual patrons are failing, the wards are crumbling, and Esther’s new and exquisitely pleasurable life may all come tumbling down.

Merciless Kings by Becca Steele and C. Lymari

Series: Boneyard Kings #1
Genre: Reverse Harem, Romance, Dark, College, New Adult, Contemporary, Mystery, Crime, Suspense

They say bad things happen in threes.
The first was when I lost my parents.
The second came when I had to leave behind everything I knew to move across the world to live with my only remaining relative.
But what was life for, if not for living? So I kept moving.

Then the third thing happened, just as I was about to begin my junior year at the prestigious Blackstone University.

I caught the eye of not one, not two, but three of the most infamous guys on campus. The three guys from the wrong side of the tracks.

Saint, Mateo, and Callum.

And now that they have me in their sights, I know that there’s nowhere I can hide.
There’s no escape from the Boneyard Kings.

Binding Rose by Ivy Fox

Series: Mafia Wars #1
Genre: Reverse Harem, Romance, Dark, Contemporary, Crime, New Adult

I was sold to my enemies.

You would think that being forced into a loveless marriage to ensure an alliance would be unheard of in this day and age. And in most cases, you would be correct in that assumption.

But not for me.

A cartel princess has no vote on who she can or cannot marry—much less love.
Any decision in my life was forfeited just by being born into the most powerful Mexican cartel there is.

Still, it does sting that I’m to be hand-delivered to the Irish mob and marry into the Kelly family, who my own brother has coined to be nothing more than bloodthirsty savages.

They’re animals, Rosa. Filthy, unscrupulous, vicious animals.

Those were his exact words, yet he still followed our father’s orders to walk me down the aisle, making sure I didn’t run from my obligation.

As if that was even an option.

All my choices were stolen away from me the minute I became another pawn to be used and abused at the hands of evil men.

This leaves me to question…

Can a rose blossom in the dark?
Or will I have to rely on my thorns to protect me against the fate that’s been bestowed upon me?

Only time will tell if I’ll survive this cursed life or become another lost soul in these cruel and merciless Mafia Wars.

As many readers may know (especially romance book readers), oftentimes we like to seek out book tropes and read romance books that include the book tropes we usually like and the book tropes we want to read at the moment. It’s what drives a lot of book recommendations and is a common way we seek out books to read.

If you are a reader who is interested in:

  • Tracking tropes that you have already read
  • Tracking tropes that you would want to read in the future
  • Collect original trope ideas that you came up with (and haven’t come across before)

Then this book trope reading journal is perfectly made for you!
