My Brother’s Teammates
My ex kicked me out on the night we were supposed to move in together.
So now I’m crashing with my big bro and his trio of football titans.
I’ve been Jason’s nerdy little sister since forever.
He’s the quarterback heartthrob, and I’m the resident book hermit.
But hold tight, ’cause life just threw a Hail Mary—I’m the new roomie.
And in a lightning-fast 24 hours, I caught all three of Jason’s BFFs in their birthday suits.
Axel Fitzgerald is tall, dangerously flirty, and built for football.
With his smooth Irish lilt, he has probably melted half the panties on St. Ida’s campus.
He has also been my brother’s best friend throughout his entire college career.
That’s about to change now that he’s been sneaking into my shower every morning.
Hudson Dupont is a hot-as-sin rich boy, whose last name graces all the buildings at our school.
He’s used to getting whatever he wants, whenever he wants it.
I just never imagined that the thing he wanted most was for me to wear nothing but his numbered jersey.
Ryder Tuff , the team’s bad boy, has always regarded me with disdain.
He insists he wants nothing to do with me, even as he pulls me closer against his wall of muscles in the dark.
But when his tough exterior crumbles and he starts calling me his “little kitten,”
I know we are ALL in a world of trouble.
Getting involved with these three football Gods is the last thing I ever wanted.
And when they promise me that this is NOT just another game to them,
I’m terrified that this scandal might break my heart all over again.
Besides, they ALL might hate me when they find out that sleeping with my brother’s best friends isn’t the only secret that I am keeping…
18+ only. This is a standalone college football reverse harem romance with no cheating and an HEA.
My Brother’s Teammates Review
To sum up my experience with this book, it’s a never-ending cycle of:
Seeing this book being recommended on Reddit when searching for football reverse harem books -> trying it out -> cringed out within a chapter -> still looking for similar books with this trope because I’m still in a reading slump -> seeing this book recommended again making me doubt my life choices -> giving this book one more chance cause I’m kind of desperate -> being yucked out again by cringe for the nth time in the row.

But yeah as you can see, I am kind of over this after giving this book a #54594 second attempt, so I’m just kind of ranting out my thoughts here now. I have been on a hunt for football reverse harem books, so have been trying my luck to find some out there to recommend. This book has caught my attention because I saw it being recommended multiple times in the r/ReverseHarem sub, but the discrepancy between those recommendations and my experience is making me doubt my reality.
Listen, I’m looking for a book where the FMC will be dating multiple pro athletes. I am not exactly looking for realism or book of the year writing here. Now I’m not saying reverse harem can’t have good writing, it’s actually the opposite. It can and should have good writing, just like any other literature. But my god, even then the writing is just too subpar.
Is it the cringey dialogue? Or the weird story progression? The romance progress (or lack thereof) makes no sense, the plot is honestly…what is the plot again? The romance is not romancing, the plot is not plotting. There is also no sense of chemistry in the romance or satisfaction when they get together because the build-up is non-existent. Even for a book that I was just looking for a fun time for it was so hard to get into. Anyways, that’s a few hours I’ll never get back.
