MY REVIEW:

I received a free copy for an honest review

This series in general went off with a good start for me. The first book has everything I loved; an edgy hate love relationship between the wealthy and the commoners, an Academy with competition and hierarchy, and sports.

But as much as I enjoyed the first book, this book, in my opinion, suffered from the second-book syndrome. The romance between Ryker and Roxie dragged and did not escalated or improved like I expect, and it lacked the lacks that apprehensive, intense -style roller coaster romance that the series was so popular of. Which resulted in it having a dull and boring romance for me.

The entire book dragged in its plot-line and story, and I find myself getting bored. The drama and problems were just all over the place, and I don’t feel it was organized very well, and I feel kind of overwhelmed while exhausted when I’m reading this.

Although new things were introduced, such as Roxie being introduced to the ‘Pose’ group (since they are a public item now), and all the politics and drama.

The book ended with a Petra’s announced death as a cliffhanger, which I find myself not caring that much. Petra was never one of my favorite characters, so it didn’t leave any emotion for me.

I feel repetitive in my review because overall, there really isn’t that much to review. There were no changes within the characters, the dramas are still overwhelming, and the romance dragged. So overall this book at best is an okay entertain read, but nothing more. At most, it’s worth 3 stars.
