More and more books are turned into movies, each one made because of the last one’s success. Especially when Hollywood is running out of ideas. Here is a list of 10 books becoming live from our imaginations in 2017.
1. Captain Underpants Bb Dav Pilkey
Who doesn’t know Captain underpants? Everyone had read at least one book in this series from their lowerschool classrooms and library. The Movie is schedule to be released in June 2, 2017. The current cast announced is Ed Helms, Kevin Hart, Kristen Schaal, Jordan Peele, and Nick Kroll. The story is about two kids (George Beard and Harold Hutchins) hypnotizing their extremely cruel school principle (Principal Benjamin “Benny” Krupp) into thinking he is their comic book superhero, Captain Underpants.
2. Allegiant By Veronica Roth (Part 2)
The Divergent Series has been such a big name with its success in the film industry. It’s last movie (part 2), based on the last book which is split into two parts, is schedule to be released in June 9, 2017. The cast is still the same, Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Zoë Kravitz, Maggie Q, Naomi Watts, etc. It’s basically about Tris and Theo fighting off battles and its many problems in the divergent world, while trying to fix society itself.
3. An Amber In The Ashes By Sabaa Tahir
Imagine my shock when I realize this book is being made into a movie so soon, when the book itself was released only last year. It is confirmed the movie would be released in 2017, but the exact date is still TBA. The cast is also still unconfirmed, but it was announced that the producers would be author Sabaa Tahir’s brother, Haroon Salem is one of the producers, along with Mark Johnson, who worked in Breaking Bad and The Chronicles of Narnia. The story is basically about a boy and a girl (Laia and Elias), who one’s a slave and the other as a soldier, met and fell in love as they tries to fight of battles the brutal world of the Martial Empire tries to bestow on them.
4. All The Bright Places By Jennifer Niven
I was actually first introduced to this book from my friend, Angela. She showed it to me after she just borrowed it from the library. It’s only confirmed that it would be released in 2017, and its exact scheduled date is unknown. Also the only cast confirmed cast is Elle Fanning. It’s about a boy and girl (Violet Markey and Theodore Finch), who met on the top of a bell tower, which develop into an interesting relationship.
5. Before I Fall By Lauren Oliver
This one is actually not that surprising. It’s so popular and looking from the amount of books made in to movie every year, sooner or later this book would be made into a movie. Especially now, when Hollywood is running out of ideas. They would never let a good painful romance story like Before I fall go without giving it a shot. It’s schedule released date is April 7, 2017. The current announced casts are Zoey Deutch, Halston Sage, and Elena Kampouris. It’s a story of how after Sam died on February 12 , she was forced to relive that day over and over, while slowly discovering the truths about her death.
6. Wonder By R.J. Palacio
I read this book in middle school for summer reading. I’m actually most intrigued to know how they would make the ‘deformity’ on august for the film, because the author never really described it. It’s schedule released date is April 7, 2017, and its announced casts are Jacob Tremblay, Julia Roberts (wow), Owen Wilson, and Daveed Diggs. It’s about a boy who was deformed from birth as he tries to live a normal life, while people around him starts to accept him more as they slowly see past the ugly mask.
7. Fifty Shades Darker By E.L. James
Sequel to the book Fifty Shades of Grey. Should be expected form the success of the first book’s movie. Schedule to be released in February 10, 2017. If I’m not mistaken I believe the trailer is already up in the internet. The cast is still the same: Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson, Tyler Hoechlin, Kim Basinger, etc. The story follows Anastasia Steele as she uncovers more pasts about her current lover, Christian Grey.
8. The Mountain Between Us By Charles Martin
An inspirational romance survival novel. A wonderful book, so the movie better not disappoint. Schedule to be released on October 20, 2017. The current cast announced are Kate Winslet and Idris Elba. It’s about two people (Ashley Knox and Dr. Ben Payne), a writer and Doctor who met on a charter plane which crashed, and fell in love while they struggle to survive.
9. The House Of Tomorrow By Peter Bognanni
It’s a heartbreaking book about self-discovery, that is filled with humor and compassion. Exact date is unknown, but it is confirmed it’ll be released somewhere in 2017. The announced casts are Asa Butterfield, Nick Offerman, Alex Wolff, and Ellen Burstyn. It’s a story about two boys (Sebastian Prendergast and Jared Whitcomb), one who one forever lived his life in the dark his entire past, and another heart-implement recpitian, and together they helped each other to create a perfect future.
10. The Dark Tower By Stephen King
Stephen King is one of the living writing legends. As a legend himself, he’s also the creator of other legends, such as The Shinning, Carrie, Firestarter, and dozens more. So it should be expected that another one of his work would be made into a movie in February 17, 2017. The casts are Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, Jackie Earle Haley, Abbey Lee, and more to be announced. It’s the introduction to one of Stephen King’s most powerful creations, Roland of Gilead: The Last Gunslinger.
