She’s a romantic at heart, living in the most unromantic of worlds . . .
Nicknamed Sweet Abelli for her docile nature, Elena smiles on cue and has a charming response for everything. She’s the favored daughter, the perfect mafia principessa . . . or was. Now, all she can see in the mirror’s reflection is blood staining her hands like crimson paint.
They say first impressions are everything . . .
In the murky waters of New York’s underworld, Elena’s sister is arranged to marry Nicolas Russo. A made man, a boss, a cheat—even measured against mafia standards. His reputation stretches far and wide and is darker than his black suits and ties.
After his and Elena’s first encounter ends with an accidental glare on her part, she realizes he’s just as rude as he is handsome. She doesn’t like the man or anything he stands for, though that doesn’t stop her heart from pattering like rain against glass when he’s near, nor the shiver that ghosts down her spine at the sound of his voice.
And he’s always near.
Telling her what to do.
Making her feel hotter than any future brother-in-law should.
Elena may be the Sweet Abelli on the outside, but she’s beginning to learn she has a taste for the darkness, for rough hands, cigarettes, and whiskey-colored eyes.
Having already escaped one scandal, however, she can hardly afford to be swept up in another. Besides, even if he were hers, everyone knows you don’t fall in love with a Made Man . . . right?
This is a standalone forbidden romance (with plenty of steam and angst.)
A mafia angsty enemies-to-lovers romance with a jealous and possessive MMC and the forbidden romance trope.
He has a heart of ice…but for her, he’d burn the world.
Alex Volkov is a devil blessed with the face of an angel and cursed with a past he can’t escape.
Driven by a tragedy that has haunted him for most of his life, his ruthless pursuits for success and vengeance leave little room for matters of the heart.
But when he’s forced to look after his best friend’s sister, he starts to feel something in his chest:
A crack.
A melt.
A fire that could end his world as he knew it.

Ava Chen is a free spirit trapped by nightmares of a childhood she can’t remember.
But despite her broken past, she’s never stopped seeing the beauty in the world including the heart beneath the icy exterior of a man she shouldn’t want.
Her brother’s best friend. Her neighbor. Her savior and her downfall.
Theirs is a love that was never supposed to happen—but when it does, it unleashes secrets that could destroy them both…and everything they hold dear.
Grumpy MMC x Sunshine FMC. Though a little bit too cliche for my taste, feel like I would’ve enjoyed it a lot more if I read it in high school. The MMC is also unrealistically capable so be warned. It’s one of those “she melts his iceberg heart” stories, and the MMC was a womanizer before getting with the FMC. Has a lot of possessive and jealous scenes involved especially with the FMC’s ex, so that’s something to look forward to for you guys.
THE FIRST NOVEL IN THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING ELDER RACES SERIES!
Half-human and half-wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their Dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful—and passionate—of the Elder races.
As the most feared and respected of the wyrkind, Dragos Cuelebre cannot believe someone had the audacity to steal from him, much less succeed. And when he catches the thief, Dragos spares her life, claiming her as his own to further explore the desire they’ve ignited in each other.
Pia knows she must repay Dragos for her trespass, but refuses to become his slave—although she cannot deny wanting him, body and soul…
Really enjoyed this book! Definitely recommend it for people who love dragon MMCs (like me). A lot of jealous and possessive scenes for people to enjoy.
I have a simple plan. Finish Royal Elite School and get into my dream university.
One glance from the school’s king blows my plan up in smoke. One glance and he suffocates my air. One glance and he issues his death sentence.
His first words spiral my life into irreparable chaos. “I will destroy you.”
Everything about Aiden King is black. Black mind. Black heart. Black soul.
I should’ve remained quiet and endured the time I have left. I didn’t.
I made the irrevocable mistake of provoking the king on his throne. The devil in his hell.
And now, I’ll pay the price.
Being hated by Aiden King is dangerous. But being wanted by him is lethal.
Although this book has a really cliche dynamic between the shy and innocent FMC and the alpha and possessive MMC that takes care of her, what I approve of about this book is that the guy is not an asshole. He cares for her and doesn’t become as toxic with his possessiveness.
I wanted to lose myself in the small town of Pelion, Maine. To forget everything I had left behind. The sound of rain. The blood. The coldness of a gun against my skin. For six months, each breath has been a reminder that I survived — and my dad didn’t. I’m almost safe again. But the moment I meet Archer Hale, my entire world tilts on its axis…and never rights itself again.
Until I trespass into his strange, silent, and isolated world, Archer communicates with no one. Yet in his whiskey-coloured eyes, something intangible happens between us. There’s so much more to him than just his beauty, his presence, or the ways his hands communicate with me. On me. But this town is mired in secrets and betrayals, and Archer is the explosive center of it all.
So much passion. And so much hurt. But it’s only in Archer’s silence that we might just find what we need to heal . . . and live.
Very unique MMC for this trope – the MMC is possessive but he is also the sweet and innocent one.
Rules, I know them, But I didn’t follow them. I moved into his city, his domain without approval. And now, it’s time for me to pay the price.
Marry the cold, calculating Don of La Cosa Nostra, The man who many have never seen-or could recognize, And be bound to the mafia forever.
But when he comes to collect me, I realize that this isn’t the first time we’ve met.
Salvatore
Nothing amazes me anymore. I’ve seen and done too much. Until her.
She’s an anomaly, Living in poverty, In MY city, Without approval.
I’m drawn to her in ways I never imagined. She ignites me and intrigues me. I want more than stolen touches. I want it all. And what Salvatore Ajello wants, he takes.
A series of mafia romances (each one is a standalone). The MMC is so possessive it’s almost comedic. In this book, it ended up being if she moves to a different floor of the same building the FMC has to phone the MMC. She does that every 30 minutes at intervals because he can’t bear to be without her.
As many readers may know (especially romance book readers), oftentimes we like to seek out book tropes and read romance books that include the book tropes we usually like and the book tropes we want to read at the moment. It’s what drives a lot of book recommendations and is a common way we seek out books to read.
