MY THOUGHTS:
I received a free copy for an honest review
I was at first a little bit surprised from its length. I actually thought that there maybe was some technical mistake, so I had to go back to Amazon to check.
I don’t read short stories that often (though I have nothing against it), so I was a little bit unsure of what I would get and don’t know what to expect at first. The first thing I noticed about this book is its medieval tone. The world building is exceptional. The author also didn’t take up pages explaining the situation, time place and setting to the readers so they can understand, which is very important since it’s a short story, and there just isn’t time for that. This highlights the writer’s writing and world building skills. And to further emphasize this point, we were introduced to different characters with different races and morals with ease, when it would usually take other authors pages to explain.
Overall, very well written, extremely enjoyable and overall very good. I give this book 4 stars.
