8 Sensational Groveling Trope Romance Books that are Super Satisfying to Read

Welcome to my “6 Exciting Groveling Trope Romance Books” post!

There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing a character who’s made a mistake or caused heartache truly own up to their actions and put in the effort to make things right in some good groveling trope romance books. However, it can be frustrating when the male main character (MMC) falls short in the grovelling department, leaving us wanting more.

If you’re like me and crave groveling trope romance books with the perfect balance of heartfelt apologies and redemption, then you’re in luck. This post will give you a list of groveling trope romance Books as I take you on a thrilling journey! This series is continued in “Books Where the FMC Actually Dies (Before Coming Back) and the Hero Grovel in the Process”. Feel free to check this post out as well.

Claimed by the Horde King (Horde Kings of Dakkar #2) by Zoey Draven

6 Exciting Groveling Trope Romance Books

This is a series of standalone books that take place on the planet of Dakkar, and each book takes place with a different “Horde King” that rules over specific sections of Dakkar. The name, the vibe, everything is heavily reminiscent of the Dothraki in Game of Thrones, so if you are into buff men and barbarian romance then boy would these series be perfect for you.

Another feature of the series is the grovel being present in every single one of the books, although the quality does fluctuate. This one (the second book) I believe has the BEST grovel in the entire series so I do recommend starting with this one. One of the best groveling trope romance books out there for sure!

Cruel Magic (Royals of Villain Academy #1) by Eva Chase

The second-best groveling trope romance books I have seen in a bully romance so far. I mean not only do the men give up things important to them and show with their actions they are truly sorry, the “ringleader” (the worst one) got on his knees and begged. It was so satisfying. The slow-burn is also top-notch, with them only officially getting together at around book 3/4.

Zodiac Academy (Zodiac Academy #1) by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti

The best grovel in all bully romance books I have read and another one of the most satisfying groveling trope romance books I’ve read so far. The BEST. Without contest, hands down, no question. Not because the writing is exceptional, I have seen better. But because the heroine stood her ground and forced the MMC to truly suffer from her decision regarding whether or not to accept their mating bond (I’m trying to not give too much information due to spoilers).

The sheer magnitude and impact of her decision make this the best grovel I have ever read. The FMC doesn’t just forgive them so easily because they “can’t help but be attracted to them” etc. She stood her ground. It was so satisfying.

The Tyrant Alpha’s Rejected Mate (Five Packs #1) by Cate C. Wells)

Now now, I know this title sounds extremely stupid (which to be fair, it is). But I promise this is one of the better groveling trope romance books. It’s no novel of the year but is still a solid 4-stars for me. This is another series filled with stand-alone each one having its own grovels, and I recommend starting from book one since it’s a pretty solid introduction to the series. Perfect for Omegaverse fans.

Kiss an Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

This book is one of the older groveling trope romance books. A grovel, arranged marriage, grumpy and sunshine, forced proximity classic that takes place in a circus. The grovel stems from a misunderstanding the MMCs had about the FMC, thinking FMC is a spoiled brat and airhead. This caused a lot of negative tensions for a large part before his moment of realization, leading to his very satisfying grovel arc. He also caused her to get hurt.

Luna & The Lie by Mariana Zapata

Another one of the contemporary enemies-to-lovers groveling trope romance books and friends-to-lovers romance between a boss and an employee. Mariana Zapata is really well known for her slow burns, so if you have enjoyed her books previously you might want to check it out.

Pack Darling: Part Two (Pack Darling, #2) by Lola Rock

Pack Darling is an omega verse reverse harem series with great grovel and MM. The relationships are well-paced between falling in love, clearing the misunderstandings, and grovelling for the MMCs. The MMCs were honestly just being jerks and they will regret it.

A Heart of Blood and Ashes (A Gathering of Dragons #1) by Milla Vane

Recommend for people craving barbarian warlord romance. The MMC misjudged the FMC, resulting in the conflict that will lead to the later grovel. Excellent fantasy adventure with enemies to lovers (also has forced proximity).

Sweet Little Nothing by L.K. Farlow

A contemporary bully grovel romance. Personally, I really dislike bully grovels because…I just feel like it’s not enough. Either the FMC always forgive them too easily or what they did was already too severe and unforgivable. But someone online said that this book’s grovel is reasonable, and so I wanted to include it for readers who like bully romance.
