Man, where should I start?
Reading this book is like living through hell. Ever page you turn it gets worse, a new evidence, a new accusation, that brings Reed closer to prison. Past problems that you never think twice comes back and bite you in the a**. At some point It’s gotten so bad and the problems are so overwhelming that you wonder if there’s going to be a fourth book written in order to solve the difficulties.
And then, that ending.
Erin dropped it like a fricking BOMB! The real cause of Maria’s death is reveled, the true Steve is shown, we got a pretty good view of what a messed up situation looks like, we got some glimpses of the other side of Dinah and what made her, her, and of course, the identity of the Brooke’s true murderer. This book did not suffer from the third book siddurim, it’s well written, totally worth the money, and if you enjoyed the last two books you cannot, you just simply cannot, not but this. If you don’t, you’ll regret it forever.
What I admired the most is how Erin wrapped it all up so perfectly, especially with everything on the line. The pace was perfect, the plotline made sense, with all the troubles somehow there are still situations that will make you laugh out loud, the character confused and surprised me on every page, changing our opinions on them ever second, and the entire book is a foreshadow. So when it was revealed Steve was actually the person that killed Brooke, I was shocked but at the same time I somehow expected it, because the foreshadowing put it in my head but I dismissed it.
Let’s start with the plot-line first. I’ve read so many books that just kept getting worse and worse throughout the series, and by the end you just don’t know if it’s worth the money and time anymore. I can assure you this book is not one of them. The story got off of a rough start, which Reed being accused (and arrested) for Brooke’s murder, Steve coming back from the dead, and the whole lot of other problems. Instead of improving and making progress throughout the story, the situation was just kept getting worse and worse. More evidences are being served on the table against Reed, past problems are coming back, and past enemies are claiming their debt of revenge. An example? If you believed that Daniel is gone for good, I am truly sorry to disappoint you. Now, he didn’t come back exactly in person, but remember how the fact of how his dad is a judge kept coming back? A great foreshadow is how the person signed the arrest warrant for Reed is Judge Delacorte. This is not a good sign. And someone is pinning this murder on Reed, and they’re doing extraordinarily well. Judge Delacorate even took advantage of the problems in the Royal household by offering a deal. He could remove some evidence from the case, as long as Daniel gets to go back to Astor Park and Ella have to lie and say that she made it all up and how the rape incident was fake and made up. When I saw this offer I was just like hell to the NO, but even us reader have to admit that it’s a considerable deal, looking at the horrible circumstance. And not even to mention the consequence. If Ella lies and says that she made it all up, can you imagine how her life would basically be ruined? So of course, Reed (bless that dude) forbids and prevented Ella from doing it.
So basically, this book is worth every penny, a master piece, so go ahead and buy it without fear.
